Gymnastic Strength

Service Description

Each class will include a mix of locomotion and primal movement patterns, gymnastic strength training and softening somatic practices. The first part of the class will focus on learning the pillars of primal movement: (1) rolling pattern (shoulder rolls & softening through spiral lines) (2) locomotion patterns (crawling and push patterns), (3) low gait movements (squats, lunges and hip mobility) (4) basic inversions (hand-balancing & and cartwheels) The second half of the class will focus on training the four pillars of Gymnastic Strength Training: (1) straight arm strength (eg. Skin the Cat or Chest to Wall Handstand), (2) bent arm strength (eg. Push ups or Pull Ups), (3) straddle mobility (eg. Cossacks, side splits or pancake splits), (4) backbends (eg. Sissy squats and bridging). All levels welcome!
